Do you think hes safe?

My dad a while ago put this long trouph like thing over the door for flowers,its really nice but you need a ladder to plant the flowers.My rooster recently developed a habbit of roosting there for the night.For a week now nothing has gotten him but im kinda worried.Hes an OEGB so hes very good at flying and blends in with the leaves up there too and is very small.hes about 6 \\ft 6/in up.Do you think a coon could climb up the house and get him?Theres no trees around.

A coon has an excellent sense of smell, and can climb into places that people would never suspect that they could get to. It's just a matter of time till the coon smells your bird, and gets him. Better find a safer place for him to roost.

My turkeys get up on the house. If they can get there, a coon can get there.

Mmm I don't know... I think a coon could probably get to him if he really wanted to, it's only a matter of time before something finds him and/or potentially gets him. I would lock him up and/or find a safer place for him to roost at night, better safe than sorry. How does he get up there, do they free range? If it was me I would find a safer place for him at night.

I would worry about him and relocate him into the coop (is he worried about a roo who is already in the coop?).

Out at night he is so open to attack. He cannot see well and is not on "watch" for danger. Roosting in the flower box, he is open to attack by raccoon, curious cat, or owl. Anything could startle him down to the ground, making him open to ground predation.

He might like the "snuggling/burrowing" of the flowers. Can you give him a box in the coop with fake flowers?

There are no other roosters around,he just somehow likes to do it for some reason.There are no stray cats in the area and the racoon that was around I cought.I dont know if a raccon can climb a slippery verical surrface though.And also I leave the light on all night thats by the door and I have a cardigan corgi who barks at the littlest of sounds.

That never stopped the coons from getting anywhere they wanted -and I have two barking dogs.
