Light Brahmas. Tallulah, one of the three, is my head hen, and has been from week two.

Jack went to his new home today, and I feel awful. I know he is going to be the only rooster to a new flock of younger hens, that he will have a happy life free-ranging, but I raised him from a chick and I feel responsible. Ugh. I'll never again see him running down the driveway like a maniac to see if I brought Japanese Beetles for him to eat.

Be a good boy, Jack, lest you be sent to freezer camp. You are missed.
