Hello. I've been thinking about maybe saying something to my teacher Mrs. W about my birthday this year. I don't know why. I also thought about confiding in my new friend and a teacher who knows me really well. Even if it's something little, like, "I'm so excited for birthday. I'll be sad, though." (This will be my first birthday without my dad. I'm excited, though birthday. but still...) Should I say something? Is it too inappropriate? (For background info., please see https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=255178 , https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=253074 , and https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=246109)

I don't think it is out of line at all, and I'm sure Mrs. W would be happy to know you think highly enough of her to trust her with your feelings.

All birthdays are a gift and sharing your joy with others is a good thing. Missing your dad is normal, that doesn't mean you should hide your happiness.

You think she wouldn't mind? I don't want to depress her or anything...
