Do You Think That Hanging Laundry Outside Looks Bad?

I don't thin it looks bad at all. I'd do it if I had a line. Nothing beats the smell of sun dried laundry! As far as communities not allowing things, my husband's parents bought a place in Arizona in a retirement golfing community where they go every year. Nobody is allowed to have an older motor home or vehicle, they all have to be modern up to a certain year. Late 90's, I think. I thought that was pretty outrageous! I bet they don't allow line dried laundry, either!

lol same here!

wonder if a big net type bag would work good for little socks?

The socks would mildew first. I must confess that when it's raining I will string cord along the posts on the front porch for laundry- but as I said, we have a formidable hedge!

right now my clothes line goes from one porch post to the next and the next. right in FRONT of my house. If my neighbor doesnt like it he can build me one out back.

This is just a guess but if you are retired aren't you living on a budget? At least with the older folks in my family they buy cars and only drive them around to the grocery store or whatever and their cars have like a thousand miles on them for ten years.
My aunt just sold a car like that when she gave up her license, no miles on it but it was not a new car, just looked it.
It is sad when people pay to live in a nice place and then they are told what they are allowed to do or what their homes should look like.
I live in a historical home, 1768 and use to be a stage coach stop. I refused to enroll with the historical society because then they can tell you what color you can paint your house and every other little thing. Then you have to be open for tours.
They still gave me a cool plaque anyway;)

I didn't have a clothes line in the city, and our acreage didn't have one either, so I bought 2 clothes poles to put up so I can!!
I was soo excited, haven't used them yet but they are ready as soon as Spring comes!!!

It's amazing how everyone's "green" until they feel slighted.... They banned this in my old area of california too.... American's have gone off the deep end..... To vain and picky... I say "Hang the Laundry"!!!!

Thank God for clothes lines, and a fresh breeze... I don't own a dryer, and yes, I guess I would qualify as trailer trash, in some people's eyes, but they qualify as elitist snobs, in mine.... So there!
