The black one looks exactly like my frizzle hen. She took a longer amount of time to lay eggs than my other pullets, and more like as much time as my silkies.
My kids named her the evr popular "frizz" She was the only one I was able to get to hatch last May and she started laying after Christmas. I have to figure out which eggs are hers this spring so I can hatch sizzles with my blue grey silkie roo. Love the frizzles! Good luck at the show. I hope you get an egg soon

They both look like hens. The roosters have much bigger comes at that age and start crowing at about 3-4 months. Atleast mine did. And I have a hen that looks exactly like the Black Frizzle hen. She is almost the same age, actually a month older and just started laying a couple of weeks ago.

Well this is interesting. I think it's reverse chicken psycology. When it's supposed to be a hen, I'm told it's a roo. So I said roo and everyone said hen.....

Well it looks like everyone was right. The splash cochin laid her first egg on 01/29/10,
