Well I put my 8 roasters out in the rabbit pen that is on the outside of my chicken coop today with a light? Do you think they will be ok? They are twice the size of my egg layers, I got all of them At end of January and they have been in the house for two weeks but theses guys are huge.

How cold is it? Are they huddled under the light?
If they don't seem uncomfortable, they should be alright. I usually keep my chicks in my garage with a heat lamp (in a bin or wire cage, depending on whats available), and that's worked pretty well.

It's 28 degrees right now. Just went and checked on them and they were all walking around and eating not cuddled up! I just hope I'm not doing the wrong thing. I hope they make it thru the night.

Do you have a thermometer in there? I also hope they will do okay. Be sure your heating system will not be a fire hazard. I kept mine in the garage until they were six weeks old. They went out in the garage about 2 weeks of age (I think), and I worried about them, too.

Good luck!
