I just spent almost 50 dollars last Friday on chicks and feed ...
And I'm gonna have to sell abunch of eggs before I can spend 40 dollars on 10 keets!!!!!!!!

We just paid $5 for 6 month old guineas, and that's as cheap as we've been able to find. Other ads on CL are $6-$10, and at the local livestock auction it's the same. There's a poultry farmer near us who isn't getting them in until late summer who sells them for $4 I think...but we wanted to get some now and may add some later.

Technically, I don't either. There's one that's about an hour away, but it was supposed to have changed (not an auction, but where they sell them at the auction's set price), the one I frequent is two hours away. The gas to get there is cheaper than gas to and entrance fee for a movie, and I have a ton more fun at the auction, lol.​

Thats extreamly low i paid $8.50. for 12 of them! It was well worth it!

I have a friend that has 5 lavender guineas but I don't know if they're gettung rid of them still or not? So do you think I should still get the guinea keets from the breeder then if I like them get more later?

$4.00 each is a fair price. I am gonna hatch out some and will be selling them for the same price. They will be cheaper if you start with eggs and hatch them out yourself, BUT as we all know with incubating anything can go wrong. It takes 28 days to hatch out keets and if you buy them as keets you are already 28 days ahead of the game. There is more fun hatching out your own but that is up to you. Good luck with whatever you do.

So $4.00 dollars each isn't a bad price, so I guess what I'll do is get 10 from him and then if I like them I'll buy some hatching eggs or buy some more keets from a hatchery.

Yes, $4.00 is not bad.

Last year I paid $20 for a dozen eggs plus $10 for shipping. Out of 12 eggs, 8 hatched, so for $30 I got 8 keets. That is $3.75 each.
