Do you think this is too much for keets?

So ya'll think I should get them?

I think you should get them. Unless you are sure that you want lots of Guineas, you could start with 7 or 8, then next year if you really like them you can raise dozens of them from your own eggs.

I really like my 8, so now I have 20 eggs under 2 chickens, and so far there are 17 eggs in the Guinea's nest that I am going to let them hatch. (I have 2 females). If they lay another 17 that will give me a total of 50+ keets!

The avg.here is around $4-$6 a piece.I never got to hatch any from my old flock last year.Got some egg's coming this week going to start new.ground ready keet;s sell easily here for about $8. which is fair if you take in feed price and brooding to get them ready to go out. Some new local swaps have cropped up here and the livestock mkt. does a once a month sale for non cattle/ horse and a lot of diff. birds bringing good price's from I have heard.$4 each is good i would buy them.At least you can see the birds when you buy local and you arent losing any in shipping.I have never shipped any chicks or birds and wont.

I paid $4.00 each for french pearl keets. I got ten now eight. They are very skittish compared to the chicks I have raised in the last year. I'm sure the price depends on what breed of guinea you buy. This is my first time with them and I'm really enjoying them. I have a broody hen raising them for me. They will be 3 weeks old this Friday.

Mrs. Fluffy Puffy :

A breeder near me was going to"Hatch" me out some guinea keets I though, but when I saw him Friday he said he was going to order them and they'd be $4.00 each I was going to get 30, but then I decided on 20 but now I'm thinging 4 dollars each is just too much to pay. And I think I may call him and say I'll just wait to order ...

What do you think?

Most keets do sell for 3-4 dollars. I sell mine for $3.50 easily. I bet I could get $4.50 for them because everybody wants them right now!

wow, I sold keets last year for $2 each.

It only takes a few hens to end up with a yard full of guineas.

My first order 3yrs ago was at a feed store. I think i paid about $3-4 each. I got a dozen. I ended up raising 7 to full grown. The nest spring I had over 20.

We paid just under $40 for 6 from our local feed store and 3 died! My DH felt bad for me so he ordered a dozen eggs from Ebay. They are in the bator right now

The eggs with shipping were $25.
