Do you wear special footwear in your run?

I wear whatever I have on...bare feet, work shoes, sandals, sneakers- don't have any special chicken coop shoes. However, if I'm mowing the run I'll wear sneakers

My girls mostly freerange though, so my run doesn't collect too much poo...

i wear whatever i have on....as long as its some kind of shoes.
if the run is muddy from rain etc. then i walk very slow. i have slipped on poop. (not fun)

I wear a cheap pair of flip flops.I refer to them as my "poo-gliders". I just leave them out on the back landing or in the utility room. Once in awhile I soak them in a bucket in a diluted bleach solution. Eventually they get tossed and I buy another pair, always for under $5.

My pen can get awfully slippery after a rain, so I always wear boots with good corrugated soles. Next time I get some I'll look for spikes.

Darn near killed myself with crocs and birks out in the pen - never again! Anything without traction is an invitation to sudden death - whooops!

I HATED wearing the tall rubber boots and I couldnt stand walking around in them, so I decided to wear flip flops eventually they made their way into the house. My dad knew it was me who was tracking the poop into the house so he decided to sell a chicken everytime I wore flip flops in the chicken run. I had SERIOUS problems with that rule so I cut his rubber boots to my specified height:) I visit the chickens countless times everyday (no wonder they hate me) and I never felt like going ALL the way to the garage to get the boots. Im the one who does all the cleaning, putting them to bed, letting them out, changing water, filling food ect. so it was a problem that I didnt wear the boots. Luckily my dad didnt end up selling any chickens!

And my mom got me these really cute rubber garden slip ons. I ALMOST lost one last night when I went to show my friends the chickens and I wore my flip flops because i didnt know the door was unlocked. I guess another thing i didnt know was that my dad was watching me from the kitchen window...

Found slogger brand short-ish boots at Target so I got 2 pair of those today. So now we have 4 pairs of rubber boots in all. It's not likely that all 4 of us will need them at the same time though. I am still hoping to get myself a shorter pair so at least now I know what size I wear in the sloggers (my usual size, 7, is just slightly snug so I'll go with the 8. If my feet fart only the chickens and dog will hear it).

I wear shoes outside on the property that never leave the property nor go inside the house. I have shoes that I wear off property that I don't wear around the coops. I have croc type sandals as well as cheapie running shoes for chicken shoes.

It's for disease management purposes. Don't want to wear shoes to the feed store and track someone's infectious disease germs back to my chickens. I never wear chicken shoes into town nor wear town shoes around the chickens.
