Do Younger Ladies Have A Higher Chance of Laying Double Yolk Eggs?

New chicken nugget owner here of 8 sweet ladies, all different breeds. My girls were born end of April and most are coming into laying. If you look at the attached picture I was lucky enough to receive 6 yolks out of 4 cracked eggs today. How often does this happen? Is it because they are just coming into lay? Some eggs are kinda funky too, like I had a mega one and also a torpedo shaped one as well. I’m totally fine with it, just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? Thanks in advance

Double yolk eggs aren't all they're cracked up to be. (See what I did there?)

While our first reaction to getting two yolks out of one egg is, "goody, more of what I like about eggs", it represents a possible future egg laying issue that may contribute to egg binding.

For now, just enjoy the variety from your new egg fleet. But keep notes on the individuals and any anomalies. We can mitigate a lot of the danger with over the counter calcium supplement if the anomalies persist.
