Do your chickens come in the house?

Yes, if I don't watch it I have Game hens in the house.
While the closer eases the screen door shut, I usually have one or two in the house with me. They have come in so much. they know their way around!

The visual of you sitting in the chair and getting Buk Buk just made me choke on my lemonade. hahahaha

Mine are still in the house (brooder) but my SLW flys up to the top of the brooder and out. I fell asleep on the futon doing my taxes and was awakened by Speckles yelling at me to get up and pay attention. Hubby told me that DD came out early in the morning and saw Speckles sitting on the side of my head and edge of my face SLEEPING!

She will come out of the brooder and look for me if I am out of ear shot too long...she is just a mess...but she is too cute to resist right now with her 'yoda' looking fuzz head...

Here she sits on the top of the brooder area

I imagine she will be FUN when they move outside. Gotta love your chickens!

No way in the world would I have a chicken in my home. Sorry folks but I am stressing about even getting them unless I can really work out a way to keep their coop sanitary. I am a clean freak and the thought of a chicken pooping on my floor or on my table, couch ewwwwwwwww Just nasty.

I want to see those chickie diapers someone mentioned

Yes, ours come into the house. Thankfully we have wooden floors... Recently, my favorite girl came in and she was clucking, I called her into the living room, she came over, hopped down the stairs and sat next to me as I played the ukulele. I was so touched I had tears in my eyes and called the kids over to see. We were all amazed.

oops, i forgot to subscribe to this thread and i thought no one had replied. sorry about that.

redwa, the thought of the chicken intently listening as you play the ukelele is precious!!

my chicken continues to explore the house occasionally. she found the dry cat food bowl yesterday, and she's pretty intent on raiding it now. the cat is a COMPLETE WIMP and just sits 10 feet back and mews.

Hi! Yep, I am the proud mommy of 3 indoor bantys. Wasn't going to be that way, but after 4-5 unsuccessful trips outdoors, I just gave up. They just don't like the great outdoors!!! Maybe they realize they have it good inside.

Here they are in their new run, smack dab in the livingroom.

I can only IMAGINE the havok if I let my babies loose in the house when I'm not expecting it hahaha. They would not be deterred by the counters as the dog is and would be up there in no time flat when they are grown up to get at the bread, the fruit, the lettuces... LOL. 4 weeks is all mine will get inside and then out to the coop they go!
