How do I say this in a nice way? I think it has to do with the demograhics of the town.

My mothers family ate the feet when they were little. She never liked them but when I butcher a chicken I cook the feet and take then to my Aunt. she doesn t have a tooth in her head but she manages to eat those chicken feet. They grew up really poor and I am sure that back then it was waste not want not but now it seems to be a real treat jfor her!

Well I also noticed that they do label cow tongue as what it is, cow tongue. *EEK!* Memories of childhood and having to eat tongue once a week cuz it was cheap and my parents had alot of kids to feed.

Oh goodness gracious, what an awful memory. You just had to bring it up. To this day I feel like gagging when I remember that weekly dinner.

Okay, I'll mention it here and then deny I ever said it. Whenever I see cow tongue in the store, I have this overwhelming urge to touch it. It looks kinda rough, like a cat's tongue. I just wanna touch it to be sure.

How interesting. Thanks for letting us know about that.

You're very welcome! I love sharing the interesting facts I learn in that class.

Also, I always have to touch the cow tongue too! : P

I think it has a good flavor, but the texture is too odd for me.

I remember eating at a dim sum restaurant with my eccentric aunt when I was very little. She insisted on getting duck feet, but my brother was the only other one of us brave enough to eat them. They were so chewy it made my jaw hurt just watching them eat it.
