Hehe yeah, she squawks and bites him on the bum. :p My favorite though are the noises she makes when she's happy, she'll make these cute little chirps and squeaks. She does it when she's scoping out nest areas, and right before she hops up onto wherever you're sitting, almost as if to say "hey, Mom...Y U no let me ups?"

She also does this funny chirp when she's doing her happy head-bob thing. It's hilarious because Wobbles doesn't understand what it is, so he'll run away from her as she chases him wildly head-banging trying to show him affection!
the tables have turned. But how cute she is that she makes all those sounds and is so physically demonstrative when she is doing them. She is a gem.

If i'm not careful they'll leave a little something "extra" behind.  No fast movements or startle response on my part.

I try not to sit in chairs around them now.  Lots of squatting with empty pockets.
So true. They can fire off without any warning and it's all over. Good idea to do that.

A-yup, he's about as sassy as they come! Thankfully Bean is finally starting to gain enough confidence to dish it right back to him. He tried to forcefully mount her a few minutes ago and she responded by chasing him all around the room, LOL!
GO BEAN, lol

Some are huggable, some are not.

At least some are

Have you raised them all?

I vote "Other/Both"

My girls are eye candy and huggable but I don't hug them. I give neck and chest skritchies instead.

They'll fly up to my lap/leg/foot if I'm sitting in a chair watching them. They invite me to join in ducky games and swim time and sometimes I think that they think there's something wrong with me because I don't join them.

I brooded my girls in the bathtub not as a first choice. I really wanted to brood them in my dog's surgery crate in the garage but they could squeeze themselves through the smallest holes in the crate even though those holes weren't even duckling sized.

I kinda liked brooding them in the bathtub. Overall I think it was less work than the system I intended to use.
Lucky you! I'm sooo jealous

Hugable? No. Never hugable. Wife is too jealous! She'd shoot me and then hug the ducks!!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

LOL my three pekins are mostly huggable.... One of my girls isn't one for being scooped up and held but my boy loves it and my girl doesn't mind.
Awesome, you are one of the lucky ones

@Ren2014 , I raised the Runners from day-olds. Three or four of them are my huggy ducks. And another three or four are my close companion ducks - they don't like touches, but they are generally within inches of me.

Awwwwh sweet. The only time mine get close is if I have meal worms or they are starving and I'm close to their feeder, lol. I did have to corner Big Momma last night. She's the really big Pekin and she was limping. I couldn't find anything wrong with her foot and she wasn't limping as bad tonight. I'm going to check her again tomorrow and probably keep her separated. I hate when one is injured but it's the only time I can love on them, lol. Just having her head on my neck while I probed her foot was the neatest feeling ever

I would use an Epsom salt compress on her leg - it's good for healing up sprains and pulls.

Remember Epsom salt is a laxative, don't let her ingest it.

that is so sweet having her head on your neck. I can understand why you would love that. I sure would.

Yes, the plan is to soak her legs in the outdoor sink twice a day for a few and keeping her confined. Let me know if you think of anything else I should do.

OMG, this is the only time I get to hold one, and to hear them breathing so close is sooo neat.

yes. The breathing. Right. I had never heard a bird breathe before so when I got to hold a friend's ducks a couple years ago I heard them. I loved it. It's sweet. I have 2 tiny finches and you cannot hear them breathe.
