Doctor who fans only

I ended up liking the 50th a lot. 10, 11, and the War Doctor were a really good combination (visible old age versus actual age!), and I liked Clara more than usual.
I really didn't appreciate the way Moffat went and fiddled with one of the most important parts of New Who history though.

it was definetly interesting! but if you think about it.... moffat is a genius!

Well... in terms of short-term value, the choice he made was a good one. Changing up show dynamics keeps people interested, which is good for the show.

However, the destruction of Gallifrey was a big part of the Doctor's character development. It gave him something to regret, and protect other species from, and it made others fear him. He was braver, sadder, and more dangerous because of what he'd done.
And now that's no longer a part of the series.
Sure, he, his enemies, and his friends may still think he destroyed his own people, but the audience knows. And it really diminishes what the Doctors (especially 9) have done.

At least that's how I see it.

He had his start as a stage actor, mainly doing musicals.

Did you all catch the Christmas special? Ah, it really broke my heart. Though, I have a few choice words to exchange with Moffat (writer of the ep) and Payne (director). Just a heads up, they ruin a perfectly emotional moment with 'comedic relief', and it completely detracts, I was quite annoyed. That and the extension bit that appeared in the end.

Anyway, I read somewhere on tumblr that apparently Clara is in love with the Doctor, or at least will now show romantic inclining toward him, beginning in the 50th anniversary.

At this point, I'd rather have the Master return out of nowhere or the Rani, hell, even a cameo from Susan or 'the Doctor's Daughter' would be welcome. I prefer watching the Doctor making friends and battling aliens or salvaging events in time instead of his companions constantly falling for him or vice versa.

Ranting ahead. Don't read if you're sick of hearing people criticize this show.

So much of the comic relief in the Christmas special felt so forced. Was the "Clara and the Doctor are TOTALLY NAKED RIGHT NOW LOL" gag really necessary? I really don't think so. Maybe it was funny for the first ten seconds, but it got old fast.

And why does every new female character have to have romantic feelings for the Doctor? That's not how women work. I don't think that's even how guys work, actually. People are different.
