Documentation of My Project Naked Necks

I just can't get over her face! She is so sweet looking. I too am just starting to breed my birds. I have a Wheaten Ameraucana that I am going to be breeding to my Brahmas. I eventually want to get a NN and breed EE/NN!

Spent so long trying to breed "full blooded" breeds. Just decided to do and breed what I want to breed to make myself happy. Have fun with your birds, that's what I'm doing now.

Here is the next planned stage of my project:

with and

AND

Each set penned together today. PLan on starting to collect on the 6th and set on about the 12th of Sept.

Are the hens EE's, I thought I saw muffs? That roo is gorgeous. Those pairs will make lovely babies!

I plan on either buying some showgirls or getting both silkies and NN and breeding my own. Breeding my own will be much more fun in the long run, but I am worried about keeping silkies with the birds I have now.

At almost 15 week (will be on the 5th of September).

Here is the cockerel: Look at how red looking on the body, neck is a cream color and the wing and tail feathers are a lavender color. I'm not sure if you can really call it lavender but it is very close to the lavender Ameraucana's I use to have. Here is a second shot: and a shot of the wing trying to show the lavender color: .

Now for the pullet:
1st shot and, second shot.

1st wing shot. 2nd shot. She shows none of the lavender coloration like the cockerel, hers appear to be black colored.

These two are turning out to be quite nice sized birds.

Notice the yellow legs on the cockerel, I had planned on using this cockerel on the Easter Egger pullets, but now I don't think so, I don't like yellow legged EE's, so instead I going to try him out on selected Naked Neck hens and pullets. I have a Partridge colored hen and a Mottled Partridge hen I think I try him over when he gets old enough. Also, I have two young pullets that just started laying back in May that I think I may try him over. They are 1/2 Easter Egger (dad) out of some Production Red hens that I had at the time. They are very much colored like the gold and black chipmunk (as chicks) Easter Eggers (Golden Duckwing), except they are a nice Red Duckwing instead of the gold color.

@jerryse if you see this can you please weigh in again. You said once looked like Wheaten with Duckwing. Are you still going with that? What would you suggest calling the color? This is just for myself so that I have a way of identifying them. Thanks in advance.

Wow she is gorgeous! Do you have any pullets available for sale?

Not any like these. I think I may return the mother of these two to the sire of them . Right now I don't have much for sale. I have pair of Red Dorkings. And some young cockerels mostly EE's.

Well I just set 28 EE/NN eggs today. These will be added to the previous ones I've been documenting. All the eggs were from the Naked Neck rooster over the 3 Easter Egger hens he was cooped with.
The Naked Neck hens that were cooped with the EE rooster ( he died ) never laid any eggs I don't think they would have hatched anyway because I don't think he was mating with them. I did manage to get 2 eggs from the EE hen that was cooped with him, hoping that they were fertile and hatch. Trying to get a rooster from them so I can continue the make line.
