57 days before i raise ducklings again! Previously i’ve kept two pekins, one welsh harlequin, and one silver apple yard, but i lost them all a while back. i’m starting fresh very soon! i can’t wait to start my own thread like this.

Clementine is sassy and mischievous.

Our black swedish is that way and we just fell in love with her. We are getting another one because she is so much fun. I just can't believe how similar they are.

My, yes! Clementine is sassy and mischievous. Figgy is curious and a little anxious. Those two are stand outs right now. Marmalade seems to be the friendliest. She isn't really scared of the Giant Hand that reaches in every now and again. Peanut is just chill. She just follows what the others do, and she sleeps a lot.

Black Swedish ducks! - I wonder if her mature voice will be the same as the ducks that @Magnolia Ducks and i got in 2019. Those ducks were/are not quacking but screeching:

And they are LOUD! Some of the smallest ducks in my flock but you will always know where they are!

Nope! - You will turn into an evil axe murderer! - From the point of view of your duckies. They will suddenly be afraid of you for no obvious reason. Don't be disappointed! It will disappear and they will like you again.

This is the truest thing and I'm so relieved to see it said by somebody else. I started calling the straw I would add to my Appleyards brooder "murder straw," because they would scream and run for their lives like they were being brutally murdered every time I added a fresh batch.

My ducks run for the hills whenever i come out of the shed with a blue bag full of cat food! Strangely they are all back, waiting in front of the porch for their snack after the cat-food was transferred into the plastic container and the blue bag of doom has been tossed.

That is a CRAZY noise! Haha! It's the same with my chickens: my Silkies are the loudest friggin things. Not even 2 lbs, and they put my big 8+ lb girls to shame!

I'm very happy that Marmalade's bill is getting quite dark. I have read that Welsh from hatcheries sometimes have lighter bills due to not-so-great breeding stock. I would love her no matter her bill color, but I think the dark bills on that breed are very pretty.

I am also happy that they have really warmed up to my son. He talks to them frequently, but is a little afraid to handle them (he is a young adult who is on the Autism spectrum, and he gets anxious easily). But they seem curious about him rather than afraid. They are rather terrified of my hubby, though.

Hubby needs to sit down with them in his lap in front of the TV and watch a couple episodes of SpongeBob. The two Pekin boys from @SuperDuck are big fans of Sponge Bob.
