I've read that ducks don't need to be tested like chickens do. In that case, does a person need to be NPIP in order to legally ship duck eggs to other states?

I'd like to begin shipping eggs, though I'm not sure that I want to deal with the hassle and cost of becoming NPIP certified.

It depends on the State. Being NPIP does help because you will most likely need an Import permit. Contact your State board of animal health and they will point you in the right direction.

Contact MN Testing Laboratory in Willmar. They will be able to help with NPIP and give you the contact to the state you are shipping to for their needs as well 320 - 231-5170
