Does any Hatchery have good Layers in stock before May 2023?

Hi. Been looking and haven't found a Hatchery with availability soon.
Hoping for Rhode Island Red or Barred Rock but will go with any great layer or combination at this point.

You are pretty much out of luck with hatcheries at this point. Mt Healthy looks like they might have chicks available in May but don't hold your breath. Your best bet is local feed stores as they ordered extras due to high demand, CL, FB marketplace. You can try calling the hatchery on hatch day but any extras are probably already earmarked for repeat customers.

I would call the hatcheries as early as they open on hatch/shipment day. Some times they have an over hatch.

It looks like Welp has some April availability. Even if you don’t want 25 chicks, there’s enough demand you should have no problem selling any extras.

Why not farm stores, "chick days"?

Check out your small local feed stores, or at a place like TSC, find out what day their chicks arrive, then get to the store that morning before it opens. Lots of crazy chick hoarding and reselling going on-it reminds me of toilet paper and hand sanitizer in 2020, poor chicks!

I think Cackle Hatchery has both and starts shipping in February.
They also have a layer that is more productive than Plymouth Rocks - Leghorn. The laying queen of the chicken breeds.
