Does any one beside me have a problem with the new ..

Everyone I talk too about alcohol tax says the breweries have their hands so deep in the politicians pockets it will never go up. The local IGA store took out their movie area and made it a HUGE liquor area, which just insulted my 8 year old to no end . . .every gas station you go into sells it by the truck load. . .booze rules, no doubt about it.

I dont drink and i dont smoke.....
i stopped smoking 2 years ago and am hoping hubby stops his 2+ pack a day habbit..Plus all the beer...

I started smoking when I was twelve. I quit four years ago after my having been on the patch in the hospital for two weeks following a stroke. I just stayed on the patch for another month. I haven't smoked since, but, dang, I still love 'em and miss 'em.
Good luck quitting; it's really hard, but ... yeah, it's worth it, but ... yeah, again... I still love 'em and miss 'em.

Never smoked. My parents did and my DH's parents did, but neither of us started, mostly because we didn't want to end up like that (his mother died from it a few years ago and his 53 year old brother is dying from emphysema right now) If the new ones go out so they prevent brushfires, I think that's a good thing, especially since some clueless folks still toss them out the car windows and cost taxpayers $$$ to fight and then deal with the consequences of those fires.

There hasn't been a brush fire from a cigarette here,Well ever! I honestly think that stuff that makes the cigarette go out, is just to addict you more. Name brand smokes are almost $9 a pack in NY now with the new tax. Drive 15 minutes away to Con or Mass & there half that price. I started growing my own tobacco plants. The quality of the smoke,is like comparing store bought eggs to fresh.

On one of the informative shows, they are coming out with e-cigarettes. Wondered if it will kill you faster!

No one in my family smoked, nor my hubby's family smoked either (they used to, many years ago) and not going to start it withe DD either! My maturnal grandparents all smoked and to their dying days, they said cigarettes do NOT cause cancer, both of them died of cancer of lungs.

I will ask my aunt and uncle who are devoted smokers and if their cigarettes light itself out.

yes they all have that extra chemical on them now to put them out it is horrible! I need to quit I know more because I think there are more chemicals than tobacco anymore. I try smoking the organic ones by American Spirit but am hooked to Malboro

its ironic too since I do everything organically and my smoking probably makes it all obsolete

I understand that smoking is harmful, but you have to wonder if the new chemical the government is making them add so they go out isn't going to compound the risk. I've been smoking for 50 years and keep trying to quit. Someone suggested Lifesaver candies. Now I addicted to nicotine and wintergreen.

I smoke "RYO" and I use Prince Albert Smoking Tobacco. Most folks think PA is Pipe Tobacco, but it is great stuff for smoking in cigarettes, also. It is a lot "cleaner" tasting (if that can apply to smoking

) and like you said, it's like store bought to fresh eggs difference. Plus, it costs me maybe 12 bucks a carton this way and it only takes 5 minutes to roll a pack of smoke.

Of course, living in KY, we are in the middle of some tobacco farms. Hubby wants to try growing a small patch, just to see how it tastes compared to the chemically enhanced stuff. I do have to say though, that Tobacco is the prettiest crop in the fields, and hanging in the barns to dry and cure.

I commend those folks who don't smoke, or who are trying to quit - it isn't easy to do and I wish those who are quitting all the luck in the world.
