Does any one else wish BYC had spell check?

It doesn't need to be an English literature class for people to respect their own language. It DOES matter. I can't tell you how much time I scratch my head trying to figure out what the heck people are trying to say, between the barrage of abbreviations, misspellings, and lack of punctuation. You don't have to be an English Lit major to use the language they way they taught you in grade school.

I use ieSpell and try to be careful when on a American forum to use American spelling.

I agree! Like are we gonna get graded on these post...lol If you don't like that we mis spell...hahah don't read it! LOL

I CAN spell- but I never learned to type properly. So my thoughts tend to race ahead of my fingers. I do try to do a fast read before I click on submit, but I still miss some mistakes.

Not being formally taught "computerese", I haven't a clue as to where spell check can be found! Anyone?

My pet peeve is a post that drones on and on, no paragraph separations, no caps and zero punctuation marks. Those are very difficult to read and I usually just give up.

You could always type your replies into Microsoft Word and use that spell check. Then copy and paste your reply into the reply area for BYC.

Yes...BUT it's better than going back and having to re-read your entire message for errors...
