just wondering if any one freecycle on here?, ok if you have not hurd about it, it's a great web site with today ecconomy it's a great place to share....ww.freecycle.org.... we are always putting thing's on the site to give away (we are a green farm) but we have also gotten some really cool stuff off this site.......if you are a fan of freecycle i'd like to see what you have either given or gotten off this site

I have heard of it and thought it would be very useful too! However the last time I checked it wasn't available in our area.

At the end of the school year I always have a few "used" workbooks, that have only a few pages taken out, I offer those up for people who homeschool.

I've passed down alot of jackets/baby things that way. (for some reason my mom & granny buy the boys hoodies 2 times a year, so they have like 8 in the closet.... we live in the desert).

I used to freecycle. Got a few dog crates. Gave away LOTS of stuff. A friend of mine got a brand new kitchen table with the chairs one time. Ive stopped Freecycling after having some issues with a few of the members, but I tend to go on & check every once & a while.

Freecycle where I live absolutely bites. There are seldom any offers and when you list something you get a bunch of replies from the same people every single time....they grab anything listed before anyone else even gets a chance to see it. At the holidays there are huge lists of what they want you to give their kids for christmas. Daily there is posting after posting begging for everything....from cars to all household furnishings to clothing for all 8 of their kids. I won't even list anything anymore....just not worth trying to weed out the "greedy grabbers", the thrift stores could use it better.

Freecycle has been a great resource for me. It has allowed us to get rid of a ton of stuff (bikes, furniture, yard sale leftovers, etc.) without having to do more than list it, and I have been able to get a few things rather than have to buy new. Most recently I wanted to put a piece of linoleum on the floor of our coop-in-progress and knew someone must have a scrap lying around. I posted and had one in less than 24 hours.
I agree that some people use it to try and get ridiculous amounts of stuff free and that some people are VERY greedy, but I just steer clear of them. Overall, it's a great way to avoid the landfill.

I've had good results every time w/freecycle.

I've gotten a rabbit cage(nice one) and a baby scale that breaks down to oz. so , i can weigh puppies, bunnies and lil chicks or big...

And I've given lots of stuff away, but I alway say I'm putting it out at the road side, so whoever, can take it. Works better for me. I give away lots of flowers to. I'm right in the middle of doing that, she's coming over this weekend. So it's been great. There are things that I couldn't find, like a bator....
