Does any one here NOT name their chickens?

Some of ours have names, but most of them don't.
Until recently I couldn't even tell the Leghorns apart...then I noticed they have different combs.

DH calls them all his girls. (Except for the roo- of course).

Only a very few on mine have had names. Originally, only the roosters, for some reason.

Nothing original there either ... with names like, "Obama," (President of the yard), Ricky and Rocky the RIRs, and Rupert (because he was the only rooster without a name, and the kids had to use an R name!). I do have three special chicks that I hatched that have names, Polly and Holly (daughter of Fern), and Miss Olive.

Anyway, I could never come up with hundreds of names! I have too many chicks, and would have to get a baby names book, and make them all wear name tags!

I have:

Rhonda
Worf
Riker
Bertha
Paprika
Rosie
Squish (has been stepped on several times, still runs under our feet)
Chicken Boo
George
No My Bird
That Weird One
Hat Bird
Noisy Roo

And the other 60 or so are known by their numbers

The quail have Borg names.

1 of 9 pen 1
2 of 4 pen 2
3 of 6 pen 3

you get the idea

Sparkles, I always named my hens at first.....I started with three, and now I'm up to 18. So now I sort of "group name" them. For example, I have some buff orps that I call the "Goldie Sisters".........I called my second batch of hens that I bought as day old chicks "The Babies" for the longest time.....then that didn't work because I got more babies!

The first group ever (3 little girl chicks) were named after flowers....Lily, Daisy and Violet.....they're still extra special...Violet was taken by a hawk.

I do have about 9 that are unnamed as of yet, but that's ok--I now call them the babies.....until I think of good names. LOL

I have 9 black sex-links and haven't named them, with the exception of one that looks like it has a frizzle gene, that's little frizzle.

I just call "hey little girls" and they come running, so so cute...

When these are gone and I choose 3 or 4 different types to replace them I'm sure I will name them but that's a few years down the road.
I'm sure we all look the same to them too, it is the snacks we carry that they can readily differentiate ~

Some of mine have names but not all of them, I don't think I could remember them all if they did! I only named the special or unique ones.

I have 12 red-sexlinks and 4 are named. Lemondrop seemed to have a lot of extra yellow on her. Then there is Houdini, she's a little exscape artist, Baby huey, who was HUGE and had really slow feather growth and then one I decided to name Hitler. She thinks she has to be in charge and is a little tyrant. My sister wasn't very fond of that name, but it fits! The other eight haven't earned names yet.

I also have 10 assorted bantams, 6 of those have names. Rex, who is a Mille Fleur D'Uccle, but for some reason, I think her name has changed to dookle, my husband keeps calling her that and it is seeming to stick better than rex. Then we have Nugget, who we just found out is a Silver Campine. Sparrow, which looked just like a little sparrow as a chick. Puff, a white silkie. There are two tiny bantams, I now think they are dutch, we call them iddy and biddy. Then we have 4 golden polish bantams that don't have names yet. We just call them "the poles".

As I get more full size chickens, they won't get named unless they seem to have an obvious one like the 4 sexlinks. And when we get birds that could be fore meat, they definitely won't get named!

Sure I have Jim Bob, Martha, Lo Ann, Dasiey , Betty, Rita, Steve, Steve Jr, Steve III, Peggy, Regina, Johnette, Lilly, Mary, Rhoda, Debbie, Carla, Jane and Zane ( they're twins), Brandie, Brittney, Randy, Aly, Kelly, Tony, Toni , Jackie, Liza, Katy, Lydea, Angie, Kacey, Molly, and .....................

OK this is getting tiring, LOL no I don't really name any of my birds , I don't even know how many I have most of the time, let alone with trying to keep up with over 100 names.

Im a not-namer. I'm kind of an insensitive chickeneer, I suppose - I reckon they are just chickens.
I might call them things like 'goofy' or 'crazy', but giving them personal, namey names isn't my thing.

Now, my wife is another matter. She names every living creature she encounters, regardless what it is. Even the aquarium fish have a name.
