Does any one remember...

I have been racking my brain trying to remember the name of a book I had when i was a kid. It was about this boy, I think he started with a turtle, he built it a house,..and then one after another he had to upgrade the house for bigger and bigger animals.
If anyone remembers it let me know. It's silly but I think my chick coop went off in that direction and I would love to get the book for the kids.
