While it is unusual to keep them as pets it is not unheard of.

I myself have not ever kept one for any purpose but have seen threads over the years where people keep them far past "harvest" age.

If you have found a way to keep them from developing the heart and leg issues and it makes you happy I see zero reason you shouldn't.

She looks good.
