Name their chickens after people they have known, like friends, 3rd grade teacher, the lady down the road?

I have a hen named Thelma, after my Great Aunt Thelma, (my grandmother's sis) (acts just like her), Dorothy and Fausty are named for 2 older ladies that I used to play cards with with my grandmother. (there is a resemblance too

) Super nice ladies.

I have a chicken named Jeremy, named after my friends son.

I have one name Eleanor after an elderly, and I mean 100 yrs old, that live in the apts. my employer does. my hen even looks like this lady.

No. That is a great idea though. My kids name them all. Sometimes it gets hard. We only have five so far.

I have "people" names for a lot of my hens, but I've never named any after anyone specific, so far. Well, not anyone I know, at any rate.

Yep definately. My only named chicken at this point is Caroline, after Sister Caroline, the lady who married my husband and I. Also a resemblance as Caroline is very LOUD, sometimes socialble, and very puffy

I gave my chickens the names of middle names of all my children and grandchildren.

well, she doesn't know it yet (guess she will now) but I just named my first hatched chick Priss, after MissPrissy, since she is the one that helped me incubate them! Here she is:

I really hope it's a girl, or he will have a funny name!!!

I've only had two chickens that were named after real people and those were my first two...
