I named my chickens names I liked. Like I have Scarlett & Esmeralda and Salma Then their is Rocky after the chicken run movie and because he is a RIR. The new ones will get names once they crow or lay eggs LOL!

We have lots of chickens named after people we know we have a Nana after my mom, an Emily after my sister, a Joyce after my aunt who is alway complaining and this chicken does the same thing, we also have a hen named Mona after my dh ex-wife boy she is one mean hen.....

I also have a Harriet she looks like Mrs . Olsen from little House.

no not really. But i plan on before culling one to name them Valerie, after a woman that was trying to mess with my hubby, but thankfully not succeded

My loudest, most nosy, obnoxious hen is named Roberta after my aunt with the same characteristics.

It's my Mom's sister, and she was flattered until she found out why!!

I have a hen named after my great aunt Odessa. She is a bantam white cochin. She is very feminine and sure of herself. That was my great aunt to a "T"

When we got this last batch of hens, there was a Wyandotte that was mean and wouldn't lay but ate like there was no tomorrow. My boys and I formed an immediate dislike for her and named her Vickie....after a woman in our church with the same characteristics. Very loud, very mean, very lazy and very large. We culled her and took some enjoyment in doing so.

Flash forward...we were telling this story to one of our friends from church and they were laughing about it (as hardly anyone can bear this woman, in fact, the whole county is wary of her mouth and meanness). Then, mid-laugh, our friend, Donna, stopped and got a worried look on her face and asked us, " Do you have any named Donna?" We assured her that we did not!

I have several named after charaters on tv and several named after people we know.

I have about 16 of my 47 named. Some after people I know and some after books(Harry Potter, etc..) and I have Little Poof from Fairly Odd Parents(my kids doing)
