Does anybody hang the waterer?

all i do is prop mine up on level bricks. ever thought of that. never once did i ever see a hen on/in the waterer<<<or what ever. lol

We hang ours... it's good doesn't stop them from mucking it up but it's better than on the ground.

I do that now and they still get on top and poop.I don't know how the shavings get in up there,either.​

Yep...hang it by the handle. There's a little notch at the top to keep it in place. I don't ever have poo in the water and they don't try to perch on it but they still manage to get a lot of feed in it....guess they need something to wash it down.

I hang my 3 gallon one by the carry handle. I use 2 bungies to attach it - and balance it - to the chain I have in the run. It works great and so much better than having it on the ground.
