Does anybody know what this could be?

I just had to kill a chicken because it was sick, what looked like an impacted crop. When I did the surgery I couldn't find anything in the crop so I decided to relieve her and I
slaughtered her. It turned out that her liver was not alright and when I opened her breast to see if I find something else I was shocked to find this what you see on the picture. Has anybody see something like this before?

In my opinion it looks like sour crop........but you said you didn't find anything in the crop?? That's very strange. Did she have any other symptoms??

No it was not a full crop. After I tried the surgery where I didn't find anything I slaughtered her and took her organs out. I found the crop sack and it was almost empty. She was panting a lot more than the other chickens and her comb was not very red. She also didn't have the strength to get on the roost the last week or so. Other than that she seamed normal. Ready to eat, laid eggs, and had normal looking poop. She was a very sweet chicken that I could pick up any time.

Okay.. I'm very sorry that you had to slaughter her she sounds like a great little bird. I don't really have any more ideas but if I think of something I will definitely get back to you....I'm sorry that I couldn't be of more help!
