I've never heard pf ot being done with ducks, but I have with sheep for weeds and stuff.
How long are you talking about renting them out?
I know their can be problems with renting out sheep, death disease, etc. You never know what your animal can bring back to your land if you let it leave and then come back.
I haven't rented them but I loaned out 4 ducks last week for weed control to a co-worker,, she brought them back this morning and her yard is spotless!
"Rent" was probably the wrong word. I was just wondering about 'herding' ducks on other people's property for purposes of pest removal. My ducks are slugs' nightmares, and they are only 10 days old! I can't wait to take them over to my parents' house and let 'em get into the garden edges.
They were also my pepper plant seedlings' nightmares... so I'll be there to watch 'em.
The weeding sounds like a great idea, too, Writer!
Hehehehhehe yeah,, they left a lot of free fertilizer behind! They also drilled the tree holes for free. He was having trouble with water bugs in his roses,, not anymore!
Not for bug control, but I know someone makes sure they have a hatch of ducks and chicks ready right before Easter to rent out for pictures a photographer takes with kids for the holiday. They make good money from the photographer, and then sells the hatchlings when they get them back. Pretty smart!
