Does anyone else’s egg layers “buffalo?”

My chickens fluff up their feathers very tall and take a stance when they lay eggs my kids call it “buffaloing “

If you mean while they are actually laying the egg, I think all hens do that.

There must to be something about the particular position that works best for pushing the egg out.

Every time I've actually seen one of my hens trying to lay an egg, this is exactly the position they are in. I would guess gravity is helping them to lay.

I do that when I have babies so I imagine it’s the same for chickens I just thought of that. Minus the feather floofing

Only I’m glad these chickens don’t have to push out 11 lbs eggs like I did babies

It’s cute!! And the egg song . I always have the Indian war song in my head when they do the egg song
