Does anyone else get annoyed by this?

I'm a big fan of Danica Patrick, but hey, she's hot.

I once got a ride in a Porsche from an 18 year old girl. I was truly impressed how well she shifted gears and accelerated the curves. She was in perfect tune with each and every part of the car, the road and the other drivers. I'd never felt so comfortable at those speeds, on that road with any driver ever. She'd only had her licence for a year and a half too. I have no idea if she can turn a wrench, but it takes a lot to impress me with driving skills.

When I go to buy a car, and the salesman says, 'How about this pretty red one??!!!'

I usually say something like, 'Are you going to be serious or do I have to go buy a car down the street from your competitor?'

And if my boyfriend is along and he starts talking to him about everything other than color, LOL.

My boyfriend usually looks at the salesman and says, 'SHE is paying for the car, and if you don't want to lose a customer, you'll talk to HER, not me'.

At times like that, I do love him so...LOL!

Some things never change.

We'll be doing fission reactors and mining helium 3 on the moon, and someone will be saying to a woman astronaut, 'Stand over here little lady, and you can see your husband flying the big airplane!'

I work in hardware. I have people ask me all the time for a man to help them or to mix their paint. Really! I am also small so when I go to the feed store the guys are always asking to help me. I say sure then are you gonna go home with me and unload it? My dad had 4 girls and I was fifteen before I had a brother. I can do plumbing simple repairs on cars. Soon DD and I will be building a bantam coop. My ex never did anything all house and yardwork and repairs was left up to me. My DH now has a hard time with my independence. He knows I can do it but I practically have to hog tie him to let me do it. Sometimes thats nice sometimes annoying. I will say the guys I work with dont mess with me when they see me pick up heavy things without breaking a sweat.

I do all of the "man" things around here. Though that has slowed some since my back was hurt in a wreck, I still prefer traditionally man roles over female.

I think the feed store guys are just doing their job cuz they ask me if I want help as well...and I am bigger than them..granted I make my boys do it

my dad did it to us so i figure it works...75 lb kid loading 50 lb sacks is cool!

I remember last time it snowed I told a guy friend of mine that I was gonna put 2 new tires on my truck before the snow got here. He said "really? you're gonna do that?" I guess he didn't think I could, I dunno. It was amusing. I did get my dad to help me *some* because he has the tire tools at his place and that's what dad's do, but out of the 4 tires I did at least 2 by myself.
