Does anyone else get frustrated at shows like "Animal Cops"

I hate those shows.. "oh take them to jail, the dog has fleas".. it seams that stupid... totally frustrating and beyond reasonable.. into ludicrousness.

That episode with the algae in the tank torqued me off too. Take someone's horses because some algae was growing on the sides of the tank. the water was VERY CLEAR and looked drinkable to me. Those people just run around looking for reasons to screw over people and take their animals so they can get face time on tv it seems. There must be a lot of legitimate calls they go on. The fact that they don't even know they are filming themselves making ignorant decisions, violating the Constitution (by unreasonable search and SEIZURE of their animals) just makes me blanche. And they make their own shortcomings be about "being overwhelmed" by the numbers of animals they take. They are hoarders of the worst sort, themselves. They cause more disease and death than any puppy miller ever. It is systematic and WE are footing the bill for it, no less!

The algae thing always gets me. When I would empty the HUGE waterer to clean it, the horses would always get in my way because the wanted to eat the algae. If I walked away for 10 minutes there would be scrape marks all up the side and on the bottom where the were eating it. Ever notice how many animals the "foster families" have? I saw an episode where a foster family already had 7 cats, I don't know how many dogs and the were being patted on the back for taking a mother cat and her kittens. If it was anybody else it would be hoarding!

Yes like a plant growing in water is bad for a animal that eats grass off the ground.....i wish they would have facts post how much they were wrong.

It depends. Dogs that go around killing cats in other people's yards are a real problem. When my brother was a teenager, we had a neighbor with a St. Bernard that went after every cat, rabbit hutch, and small child in the area. His irresponsible owner let him run the minute animal control went off duty at 5PM.

I didn't see the algae water tank one, but some of the horse ones is the reason I can't watch anymore. I saw one where the owner said the horse was over 30 yrs old, and swaybacked. They said it was abused and the swayback proved it... Except for the swayback, the horse looked to be in great health.

I had a run in with our "code enforcement officer" (who has since been fired) a few years ago because our horses had snow on their backs and he "felt bad". Said he had no history with horses, didn't know a thing about them. The humane society had come out and said there was no problem that they could see and weren't going to pursue it. This woman has horses and knows what's right and what's not. She came to court with me as a back-up, had a letter from my vet, farrier and hay supplier. This guy still went after us. When the prosecutor saw the pics of our set-up and my fat, happy horses, he dropped it.

What really makes me angry when I'm watching that is when someone does something terrible to any animal and they get 30 days in jail and maybe a 500 dollar fine.

Sorry for necro, but one word: INJUSTICE.

They air these shows to attract advertising dollars directed at what the producers think is the target audience. Does not say much for who they target does it?

4 of my dogs aren't rescued. Does that make me a hoarder/abusive/neglectful? Nope. A while back some stupid neighbor (who couldn't mind their own business) reported us about our ducks' water. Animal control came over, saw that it was dirty, and told us to clean it or else they will take the ducks away. I told them straight, ducks poop in their pond and we pump it out and refill it once a week. I told them that if they want cleaner water, then by all means, go ask the ducks to not poop in their water. Ask for a cherry on top while you're at it.

I remember the lady officer say "oh thats cute.." but they acted like they've never seen ducks or chickens. They kept asking questions about little things like "why is that there" and "whats this for". You people should know what nestboxes are..? And you should know why there is poop below their roosts? Lol. They seemed mind blown when they saw our silkies. -facepalm-

Animal Cops is a poo-poo show. And algae grows in my dog's water bowls but it's clean water. There's just algae on the sides.
