Does anyone else hate 50 pound bags of feed?

Even in winter a 50 pound bag of feed lasts me 4 months, but I give it all to my neighbors after 30 days for their pig. Now that spring is here/summer for you yankees they aren't even touching their feed. I don't know why I even bother buying feed.

Why bother with 50 pound bags if you have so few chickens? Go for a smaller bag in the 20 to 25 pound range.

Ahh that would make sense, I've got 50 birds split in three different coops. JUST as I began free ranging again, it snowed a foot back to the feed bags for me! Lol

Wish they came in bigger bags. Mine go through theirs in probably 2 weeks which works but 11 more are coming and where I live is like at least 30 minutes from anything

I only dislike big bags of feed because I struggle to lift them. I make the young, fit feed store employees do it instead!

Feed store here sell ONLY 50# bags. I got 4BO, ferment their crumbles and they stay confined in their enclosure. Bag last me 2months, I now store in the chest freezer. Wish I could get a smaller bag.

Same here I live nowhere near anything it is 15-20 minutes to the closest reasonably priced feed store. There is a cash only one 10 minutes away but I don't like them. The one I use only has 50 pounders.

I love buying in bulk (savings!) But hate lifting them. It can be quite a struggle to lift something that weighs half as much as you do, but I manage ok. I don't like asking for help at the feed stores. I may be small but it's good exercise
