Does anyone else have a goose that gets upset when your ducks mate?

For some reason my American geese get very upset about my drakes doing their thing with the hens. Wilbur and Charlotte ( the Geese) will run over and honk like crazy until the drakes get off. I use to have a African goose (I had to put her down do to a very bad injury) that would pull the drakes off. It is like they think of themselves as the guards of morals or something. Does anyone know why or have geese that do that too?

I have no idea why they do this but mine do it too and they will also go and scream in my roosters ear till he gets off of a hen too. lol

I always have said they just don't like any kind of hanky panky going on unless they are the ones doing it.

My Sebastopol is exactly the same! He also won't share the kiddie pool, if any duck tries to get in there when he wants it, watch out! I can't wait for the lake to thaw

My flock of ducks starts every morning by rushing out of their run and having a Duck Free Love party on the pond. Our goose doesn't mind, but our gander is the Purity Police and honks at them loudly. He will even swim over and push the mating ducks' heads down into the water.

Do ducks mate longer than geese? Maybe they don't want their girls knowing there's something better. Leonardo lasts about 3 secs, falls over like he had a heart attack, jumps up and announces his business then beats his chest with his wings like he's the man. The girls don't look satisfied as far as I'm concerned (I swear I caught Lucy rolling her eyes one day) and for the life of me I haven't figured out why they fight over him. I might change his name to superman since he's about as fast as a speeding bullet! I guess I will get to enjoy all this fun next years since I have ducklings right now.

Clark would be a good name too.

Yes ducks begin when they get sexually mature 5 months and on and can mate all year long. Except for Muscovy's mine start in spring and end mating and egg laying in early Oct. But my Runners and Buffs it's party time all year long.

LOL I didn't think of Clark. Maybe I should go with Claude, he's a little clumsy. Poor guy.
