Does anyone else have a pet that thinks a stuffed toy is their baby?

I have 5 year old female cat named Hailey. Her 'baby' is a piece of red and green fake fur with a piece of string attached to it. She has been dragging her baby around for most of her life. She brings it to the water dish and puts it in, dunks it a couple of times, and then takes it out and puts it on the rug to dry it off. When she is hungry or just needs a little loving she will go get baby and call for me or my DH. Sometimes she just takes baby to one of her special places and talks to him very softly while she cleans him up. Needless to say she is only a little spoiled.

Our Rat Terrier, Haley, has a little stuffed pig that is her baby. It came with a oinker in it, but I had to remove it because everytime it oinked She would cry and cry until it stopped. It was set off by hitting it. Also everytime I washed it and put it in the dryer the tumbleing would set it off and Haley would stand at the dryer and cry. She's much happier with a quiet pig.

My dog was running around the house crying all morning and I couldn't figure out what the heck she wanted....

then it dawned on me... " I bet ya she's looking for that silly stuffed butterfly I threw out yesterday because it was losing it's insides!"..

So, I went to the garbage, with 2 days worth of coffee grounds in it and pulled out the dirty butterfly and my dog about knocked me to the floor when she jumped up to retrieve the object of her affection!!.. It was actually quite sweet to see the fondness in her eyes when I pulled it out of the garbage!!!

She has since been coddling and licking and cleaning it alllllll day! she takes it outside with her even! Unconditional love!

If I knew how to post pics on here I'd show ya'll just how in love she is with this butterfly!!!
