They are pretty much all over the yard so if need some I just lift up an old board or something and there they are. Never saw a point in keeping them when I could just go outside and get what I needed.

The point for me is because I garden and worm castings are a miracle fertilizer. I think if you feed them layer feed they get big. And if I wanted any for fishing bait... right now I would have to dig through two feet of snow to get to the frozen ground, the worms are about four feet down from there. They are also hard to find around August when the ground is bone dry.
