Does anyone else keep an egg chart?

I want to do a chart, but I my girls have just layed a few eggs and although the two brown layers lay different shades, I haven't figured out whose egg is whose yet. I have a black australorp and a goldenlaced wyandotte and i have received pale brown eggs with a pinkish tint and darker brown eggs that are vaguely terracotta tint.

Does anyone know who is laying which egg? I would really appreciate some help!

Other than the black australorp and the goldenlaced wyandotte, I also have a golden campine white egg) and an ameraucana (bluish), so hopefully when they start laying I can tell them apart.

I would keep a chart if i could tell who is laying what .. I have 2 identical bantam SLW that im certain are laying as i seem to get 2 identical eggs a day, sometimes i get 3 so finding out which of the others is laying the third is the problem..

With the new birds (Hybrids) they lay different shades of brown but the hens look very similar so remembering what colour each hen lays which shade would be the problem there

I think ill just stick to the numbers way .. my highest so far is 5 in one day from 10 birds ..

I wish there was a way of painting the hens different colours so they could stamp their eggs as they come out

I keep a chart. DH set one up on the computer for me. (I don't know how to post it). I keep track of my white eggs and brown eggs. I can tell the green eggs apart, so I keep track of them seperately. I just hatched 8 pure Aracauna, so will be stopping that when they start laying. I also keep track of set eggs, broodies and chicks. The spreadsheet keeps a running total for the month. It's fun to keep track. I just tried to copy and paste. It didn't look very good. I'll wait until DH gets home. He can tell me how to post a sample.

There is a member named "raizin" on the forum and if you go to his web page you will find a nifty Excel spreadsheet, made by his wife, to keep track of eggs (by color), feed, chicks, sales, supplies...and at the end of each month it figures out your cost per egg and your profit/loss overall.
