Does anyone else love the Opera?

Opera, Operetta and musicals all get air time here. Part of why Mr Saddi got a date was he could sing.

Hi! I don't watch Opra, but her show today was from Texas State Fair and I watched a few minutes as I passed through.

I WOULD love the opera. We could not afford it. And my DH would not like them. But me. I would LOVE to go.

I loved Phantom of the Opera myself. That is the only opera I've ever been too.

Sorry, not a fan of opera. Heck, I actually despise musicals in general. If there is too much singing on one of DH's old things he watches, I have to be busy elsewhere. No interest in live theater of any type, either.

I'm with crazy cat lady, I've only seen the Phantom of the Opera movie. there is this tv channle that shows bits of Opera and Ballet I really enjoy it. I would like to see some live someday.....

What I dont like opera, or someone says he sings badly is because of the outdoor speakers are the pits! It "rings" or gives out feedbacks and the echo around buildings are awful!

One of the three tenors, the Irish one, the singer from Ireland who is a doctor, he came to Chicago to sing in the Celtic Festival. Now, I have heard him sing on TV but the outdoor, it did not do him justice at all! My hubby did not like it and said he is a poor singer. I told him, no he is a very good singer but it is the equipment that makes the singer sing badly. When this singer hits the high notes, feedbacks sounded off and "rings" horribly. It is a good thing that the fans who knew him, applauded and told him that it is not just him but the sound systems that sucked big time.

My hubby's classmate is an opera singer. Warren Moulton is his name and you can see him on YouTube as one of the three tenors. The first time I heard Warren, I thought OMG I wanna see him in person so hubby will take me to see him for the Xmas special coming up. Warren also has his own website and you can listen to his Otello' death scene, Nium mi Tema (sp).

My FIL worked at the academy of music in Philly for many years, so my DH got to go to some of the most amazing operas, musicals and concerts. I unfortunatly havent been, but I put Madam Butterfly or Pavarotti when I clean on saturdays. I love it nice and loud. My neighbors think I'm nuts.

I don't have the appreciation for opera that I would like to be at least now I enjoy listening to it. I love anything classical though.
