Does Anyone Embroider Their Own Quilt Labels?

Yes, Ranee is a definite exception to the "no quilts for family" rule I have. She kept touching the stitching lines and saying "You are so talented!". She really, really loved it and I got several hugs. She even asked again if I wanted her to pay me for the work/fabric, but I told her no way, just consider it all the birthday gifts I couldn't give her over the years. So, yep, I don't regret choosing to give this gift at all.

I made a quilt for my granddaughter for her wedding. She really appreciated it and it was in several wedding photos because they had a home wedding. They got to use it the night of the wedding as the heater wouldn't come on and it turned cold. They didn't leave for a honeymoon, postponing it until sometime in the spring. I'm making one now for my other granddaughter, sister to the one I gave the quilt to, as she said she'd like one also. My daughter quilts but makes mostly lap quilts, not the queen size I make. The other grandma makes the baby quilts so I usually crochet an afghan. It is a shame people don't appreciate the labor of love that goes into making a quilt.

I have two quilt tops pieced by hand that are ready to go into my quilting frame. I'll get one in there as soon as I glue a piece that broke. Those will be hand quilted also. It is a shame hand quilting is a dyeing art. It relaxes me. I do both depending on what I'm making.
