I showed a small mini farm this week, actually think I am going to sell it!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! But the seller at one time had a mushroom business. Most amazing scary thing I ever saw in my life. It was almost like out of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" or the movie where the aliens had humans in bags for food. They aren't in the commercial business anymore, but had some "sprouting" in the house. . .and when we looked at their shed where they had the actual business set up, I did not realize there was so much to do with a mushroom business. I don't know what kind these were, but I am pretty sure they were of a high quality, "rare" kind. They use to sell to resturants all over the metro East and St. Louis, but guess with gas prices and the economy it wasn't feasible to do it anymore. It was interesting, but plain spooky.

You mean on purpose?

We don't, but I think the cows might have a side business going.

My mom and I shared an apartment once that had 2 bedrooms below ground level. The wall next to the dirt had mushrooms growing on the carpet. We complained to maintanance several time but they never did anything. We only used it for storage anyway. We eventually moved and when the new maint. did a walk threw, they went nuts over the shrooms and told us we would have to pay to have the carpet redone. Never gonna happen!

a friend grows nonsense and yes it's a lot of work and I tried to grow once but not deligent enough in their care to get to the right humidity level..... It's amazing though to see an operation in the work. I thought it would be as simple as bean sprouting, but nooo way!
