not that u need it any more but i got bad heartburn when i was pregnant and always water with a lot of lemon juice helped! i cheated and put some sugar in it and it still worked!
I changed a few things in the way I consume food... one of them is not too much bread. Don't go to bed on a full stomach. And I try to eat raw potatoes when I can. I don't know what is in them but they definately help restore the stomach to a non-acid pool.
Other things I did was of course eat regularly, and eventually I did not have the issues I used to have. I can even eat doughnuts when I want. I take no acid drugs at all. I do sometimes have problems with acid but I eat my raw taters and poof...
I suffer big time heart burn after I eat spaghetti, which sucks since I love it, also have a bad time with meatball subs with spaghetti, but I have found that if I put about a teaspoon ( maybe a little more depending on how much you are making ) of sugar in it - it cuts down on all that acid and helps with the heart burn. It does give the sauce a sweet taste but its not a bad thing.
Also if I drink some milk afterwards it seemsto help also.
Hope this helps
As a preventative measure, do a low carb thing. It always gets rid of the occasional heartburn episodes. When you cut out the refined flours and sugars, you won't have that problem!
Aloe Vera
Try to find an aloe vera juice or drink.
I was suffering from heartburn every day
and it was bad. I took about 2 oz of aloe
vera juice a day for a couple weeks and
now I only get heartburn once in a while when
I eat something I shouldn't.
For quick relief the baking soda in half glass of water is immediate relief. Baking soda is a base that neutralizes acid and turns it into a gas that makes a HUGE BURP.
As a preventative just before meal a tiny little pepcid works great. You can get the generic walmart bottle called fomantidine of 100 for like $3-4
Heartburn really sucks. Turn a awesome Italian or Mexican feast into nasty second hand vurps. Pepcid it a requirement before that heaping plate of spagettii and sausage.
