Does Anyone Have A Kindle Or Similar E-Book Reader?

You'll decide you want one if you move! Packing all those books and hauling them is no easy task!

So how do these work? Do they come preloaded with a lot of books? Do you have a monthly subscription? Or do you just buy a book when you want? Do you have to have wireless? Need more details..... : )

Bebook looks like a Euro only device? or at least that website was ?

I THINK the BeBook comes with some books installed. You can download more books off the internet and install them from your computer. My dad does it for me so I don't know the details.

My brother just sent me a Kindle when he got the newest version. I would not have bought it but now I'm HOOKED! It is great! I read alot more now because it's so convenient. I don't llike to read in bed because when I turn the page it's uncomfortable to look at the upper page for some reason. But that's not why I like it. Just click the thumb to turn the pages, you can adjust the size of the font to see better. (This helps us older folks).
You can download a book in under 60 seconds and alot of them are FREE. You can highlight a passage or type in notes to go back to later if you want. You can subscribe to magazines or major newspapers and they automatically download to the Kindle.
I live in the country and have to drive an hour to get to a bookstore. The bestsellers are 9.99 which is alot cheaper than they sell for in bookstores. If you decide to delete a book, it goes to the amazon server where it can be retrieved years later if you want.
I bring it to work with me and read during downtimes. Very convenient!

I have used the kindle app for the iPhone to read about 20 books now. Mostly non-fiction, science, history, etc.

I really enjoy the experience of reading on the iPhone. One big benefit is that, since it's my phone, I almost always have it with me, so I can read a few pages when I have a chance.

Downside is that you can't share books with people, and they can't share 'em with you. Although I heard that there's an ebook coming out that lets you share books in some way.

The Nook from Barnes & Nobles allows you to share books. Kindle doesn't. I tried using the E-reader on my Iphone but the screen is too small and i kept having to open it and move it for just a small amount of words. Took way to long but like I said before when you're older it's harder to see.

As far as the newspapers go, I don't subscribe to them. You can get the major ones like the NY Times, Washington Post, Boston Herald, etc.

I have the Kindle Book Reader for the iPod Touch. I go to Amazon.com and sort the books by price. There are hundreds of books for FREE!

I also play my app on my iPod Touch. Click on my website link for blatant advertising.

Anybody have an egg tracking bit of software for their handhelds or desktops?
