Does anyone have any experience in getting chicks shipped to SO CA?

In particular shipped to the Santa Clarita PO. I am just wondering how the whole process of having them hold them when they arrive goes...

You make sure the hatchery rights down instructions on the box, like call upon arrival. Then you yourself have to tell them also. Santa Clarita is big so.... Have you thought about having them shipped to a smaller PO nearby? Maybe Valencia?

I'm in santa clarita and was wondering the same thing! I was thinging of getting them from a local feed store called Fox Feed.

We are in Valencia and we had eggs shipped to the house. I don't know about chicks though.

Even if you order from a hatchery like Murray McMurray (which is in Iowa) you should be fine. My friends birds came from there and we live up in North California. Their birds came in healthy and alive and they ordered several batches from there. I like local hatcheries as an idea but idk where any are up here.

I believe the office will call you I'd you leave a number with them when your birds arrive, but I'd double check that.
