I have 3 pair of call ducks they have all laid eggs but the female dosent seem interested in sitting on them
My question is how long between laying and sitting on them

Are you collecting the eggs ?
The ducks will lay a clutch of eggs, they all have a different preferred amount of eggs, but once that number of eggs has been layed they will begin to sit.

Hi newbie here, we have 4 pekin ducks and a drake, they have built a nest which is filling up with eggs but no sign of any of them sitting on it. It has been 10 days since they started, how long should we leave it to see if one of them sits?

@James Higson every duck is different some like 6 eggs some want 30 it is up to them. All you can do it wait but once the eggs that are in the nest are getting up into day 9- they begin to lose fertility so it’s always a good idea to mark the eggs as they are laid. I do anyway. And there is also the possibility she may not go broody. But I don’t think it has been bred out of calls like it has in other domestic breeds so you have a chance of getting a broody. How many eggs are in the nest now?

Can you keep a few ducks contained in a run during the day kinda like chickens? I would like to add ducks to our flock we currently have 5 chickens and would like to have either 2 or 3 ducks.

Yes you can keep ducks contained in a run. They do not need to free range, especially if they haven't free ranged before. Make sure they have enough space. You have subtract the sq ft of anything you put in a run too. Say you have 100 sq ft run for 3 ducks. If you add a baby pool that is 10 sq ft and a big water bowl and food bowl that is 3 sq ft each then you will have 84 sq ft of room left. (100 sq ft - 10 sq ft - 3 sq ft - 3 sq ft = 84 sq ft left.)
Divide 84 sq ft by 3 ducks there will be 28 sq ft of room for each duck.

yes makes perfect sense!!!! thank you. We have a dog kennel 10x10 attached to the run/coop for our chickens and I want to extend the chicken run to connect with the back of our shed and use the dog kennel for the ducks.

You'll need to have all females. Drakes have been known to go after chicken hens to mate with them and that can be a death sentence for a hen.

As Miss Lydia said you'll want to keep them seperated. Personally I have only started separating since my drake has started to mate everything that moves.
