Does anyone have their duck(s) micro-chipped?

Ok, so I'm hoping to get some new info out of this post.

As some of you may have read I had a duck sneak out of the yard this week and the neighbor brought her to the humane society. She has her wing clipped, is super friendly, and is obviously a pet. The neighbor who found her said the duck came running up to her like she was looking for help.

The humane society does microchipping (the lost pet kind) for $13 and I am considering it but I want to make sure it is safe for ducks.

Anyone have it done?

The only issue with microchipping is the microchip only works if some one else think to scan the animal. So it's great for dog and cats that get scanned right away if they end up at a shelter. but most people don't even think to scan a duck.
