Does anyone here take their birds in to be processed?

Krehbiel's in McPherson custom butchers chickens, so I imagine they'd do a turkey. There's also supposed to be someone around Yoder who processes chickens, but I've never been able to find out who!

This whole thread has made me feel soooooooo much better! I thought I was the only person in the world who would want to raise some chickens to eat - but couldn't bear killing them personally with my own hands. I have just tooooooo vivid memories of watching my family do it to my favorite pets when I was young. I can't hack it to do it myself. No way - no how.

I was wondering what sort of fee might be charged. This helps me put it in perspective. I'll have bantams - and will be located in a part of Missouri where everything costs less than the rest of the planet - so I bet $2 a bird is do-able. Plus there are a million Amish folks in the area.

Phew - sigh of relief here!
