Because of the situation... Raccoons and what not. We ( my husband) built our own that night with a styrofoam cooler, heat lamp etc.

Should there be air going in and out? Because I have it on "lock down" the cooler is closed. I cut out a square in the top and replaced it with a piece of glass so we could see in. Should I have ventilation holes?

Yes, ventilation holes are very necessary for the chick to breathe.

Top of egg is turning gray!!!!! I haven't touched it or opened the incubator! So I don't even know if it is alive. Should I be worried about the Graying????

Don't know about the turning color (by the way.. you shouldn't post multiple threads on the same subject).. but as far as knowing if its alive.. do you still hear peeping? Is the egg rocking? He could just be resting.. hatching it hard work and the chicks will take multiple breaks.
