Does anyone know if a pekin & a crested duck can survive in the wild?

any updates??
Went monday and fed them. Then watched a family come by and feed them a loaf of bread ... yuck.
There are about 5 mallards there too (wild migratory). We sat on the blanket for a while and hoped they would come up to us the way muscovies do but they are not trusting at all. A lady came by that walks her dog there twice a day everyday and said that they have been there three weeks and the day they were dropped off they were 1/2 the size and looked in terrible condition. The pekins wing was bloody and she is surprised that they have made it that long in the condition they were in. She also said that everyday she sees way to many people feeding them.
I have family in town and wont be able to get back there until Sunday.

I am in port orange. If there is anything I can do let me know
Thanks ! Do you have ducks? I guess Sherry? from animal control was called but they are still there. They are in the canal between the boat ramp fishing area (south side) and Sunrise Park on Riverside Dr. in Holly Hill.

Too bad the poor things are getting such a crummy diet and of course they are fattening up we all would if we ate bread all the time so many carbs. a little bread won't hurt them but a whole loaf? maybe you will be called to give some info out on care and feeding of water fowl. Print something up and do handouts?? People need to be educated. Be wonderful if someone stepped forward to adopt them.

You need a group to help. that way you have a human fence and someone gets behind and slowly walks them to large dog crate for easy transport. Kayak in the water to bring them to shore. They need to be rescued before they become gator bait. I wish i was there to help, my son and I rescued 3 drakes from our river I befriended them for about a week using scratch grains on the shore to lure them in then i set up a dog Xpen with opening facing the water put the feed at the back of the pen once they walked in to eat i closed up the opening and picked them up and brought them home. It can be done with planning and help.
