Does anyone know what I can replace my little giant 1 gallon jar with, its leaking and am on an isla

This is my waterer

the white jar is leaking, I am nowhere near a farmstore and online ordering is ridiculous here with added duty (bahamas) Is there a food store jar I can replace them with that have same size opening? I tried mayonaise jars but didnt fit...

I also tried gorilla glue on the crack (top) but didnt hold...

You don't have to use a waterer. The chickens really don't care what they drink out of. I have a few big dog bowls in my coop for water. All that really matters is that it holds water.

Mine prefer mud puddles actually, I use bowls, the rubber ones so I can get the ice out in winter.

lol!! no, no ice, just algue. This waterer is for my chicks, I like it but it cracked. I tried all kinds of bottles but none are the right size. I have pickle jars that fit on the small ones, I hoped someone knows a brand bottle/jar that fits. We have plenty of supermarkets but no TSC or feedstores...

I would call or write the company who makes the waterer and ask them.

But I also concur others in that you don't need a waterer like that. Just use a bowl or shallow dish and refresh daily. Don't use a rabbit or rodent waterer, their beaks can get stuck and break off. For chicks, place a rock or some thing in the bowl to prevent them from walking into the water.

I use the same waterer and haven't had any luck finding a same size replacement. Sorry.

How bad is the crack? You might be able to weld it back together...

Get the cheapest soldering iron you can find, the $5 junk ones will work... Soldering irons are not the best tool but they will get the job done...

Next get an empty milk jug or any other plastic container of the same type of plastic (look at the recycle symbol it should be symbol 2 HDPE I believe) and cut that other container into a bunch of 1/8" or so 'welding strips' then plug in the iron and weld the crack closed using a circular motion, using the strips as filler to build up the area and and make a weld line...

There are several videos on Youtube... This video isn't perfect but it gives you an idea of what needs to be done...

Flex Seal will seal the crack. You can get Flex Seal at Wal~Mart. I have used Flex Seal on my Rubber Made stock tank. I sealed the crack 2 years ago and it is still holding just fine.
