Does anyone know what type of chicken this may be?

With the mass of the body vs feather growth of about a week old or so.. that has got to be a cornish x... 99% sure. Not good if you were looking for a pet. I suggest you check out the "meat bird" section and read up a bit on them. If you do with to have a pet instead of dinner fro the little guy, you should probably keep it on a restricted diet starting by week 4 or so, and make sure it moves around. Keep the feed high so he has to reach to eat. They often can devlop leg problems due to their rate of growth, and sometimes just die. It's not always like that, but I don't want to get your hopes up on a chick that runs around like a layer would. Maybe get a few other layer type chicks in case this little guy doesn't make it.

I agree. I was doing research on meat birds and when I researched the CornishX, they are not great pets at all. Some people can successfully raise them, but the mess and high feed need isn't really worth it, unless you are looking to breed for meat birds.

I hope you don't think we're all being negative. I love chickens and all farm animals, but sometimes I have learned that I gotta face a few things about them that I don't like or want to hear. For instance, I could never have seen myself raising a chicken for meat, but now I am considering it, and even thinking about butchering my own. It just goes to show how this forum helped me and the advice from others taken.

If you do give it a try to keep him as a pet, let us know!
